make it count
Okay it has literally been so so long since I have written on this blog. I have been wanting to for a really long time but its like a phone call that needs to happen, and the longer you wait, the harder it is to call, and then you never do when you always knew you should have..yeah. Like that. SO here I am trying to write reality.
Here is the deal. Andrew and Hyrum and I are on summer break from school and hanging out in Provo until we hear back from a potential internship. We have no idea when that call will come but once it does, we are packing up some bags and leaving our tiny apartment to go back east. Until then...Andrew works on campus in the early mornings, Hyrum plays at the park a billion times a day, and I paint and watch my legs swell while my baby bump gets bigger. We are kind of just...stuck right now in a waiting game. And if you know us, you know we love to be busy. We love to have projects and to work and take classes and go on adventures and make plans. But we feel like all we can do is wait and hang out and that is making Andrew especially stir crazy. I swear school got out on a Saturday and by Monday he was going nuts with boredom.
I recently finished reading Al Carraway's book, More Than The Tattooed Mormon, and one of the best things I took from that book--and there were many gems-- was this: "Today will never happen again. Make it count." So that is how I am trying to live every day in this waiting game. Do something fun. Spend time with my one kid while it's just him and I. Do something meaningful. Stay healthy and choose to be happy. Don't waste your days. God gave us every single one as a gift and I hate feeling like I have used that gift unwisely.
Anyways, that is my blurb for today. I'm excited to get back into this blogging thing! Let me know if there are any topics you would like to hear about!
