6 of a Billion "PREACH!" Moments from "Girl, Wash Your Face" by Rachel Hollis

I am so far behind the hype of Rachel Hollis's book, "Girl, Wash Your Face," I know. But I just finished it, and it SPOKE to me you guys! I loved every second of reading and note taking and absorbing her 20 Lessons (in the form of 20 lies that we should stop telling ourselves)

This is a brief list of the 6 of a billion lessons in which I wanted to throw my hands up in the air and say, "Yes!" And then I mentally applaud Rachel.

1. Give Grace. Give grace to yourself. You're not perfect and you weren't meant to be in this lifetime. Give grace to others because everyone has a story and the only one you REALLY know is your own. Humble yourself and stop judging others.

2. Do the things that make you happy. Do the things that feed your soul. Do them intentionally. LIVE your life. You only get one life on earth.  Stop wishing, just do.

3. Work hard. Play hard. Take BOTH seriously.

4. Embrace the Chaos. "To everything there is a season and a time for every purpose under heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1 Chances are, the phase you are in right now will not be the phase you will be in for the rest of your life. Things change. People change. YOU will change. Embrace where you are now because times will change. You'll get stronger, and smarter, and better if you embrace the phase you're in.

5. Expose your Creativity. God is a Creator and He gave that ability to us. As human beings we have an inherent need to create, whether that be through the arts, cooking, self development, or even creating babies! If you want to create, DO IT! Stop thinking about whether or not people will accept it. Create for YOU.

6. Our bodies have been given to us by God and to treat ourselves poorly physically is offensive to our soul and to Him. (SO bold and Im burrowing down a little in guilt!) Be smart. Eat right. Stay active.

Thank You Rachel <3

XO
Emily
