Rome was one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. Therefore we took tons of pictures so bear with me and this blog post as you might see more pictures than you might want to but I can't help it. It was just so gorgeous I wish I could make sure that everyone gets to see it in person someday. If you ever get a chance to go...please please please do it.

Our first stop was the Colosseum. I got in for free because it was Women's Day! blessing! Seriously when things like that happen randomly and save you money it is a little tender mercy from God.  The Colosseum was much bigger than I imagined and the inside is like nothing I ever had imagined.   take a look!

And of course we had to see it at night..

On that first day I had some sort of weird prego heat flash or something...I hardly remember what happened in that fifteen minutes ish

Museo Centrale del Risorgimento

The view from the back of the Museo Centrale del Risorgimento

Real Italian food. Real Yummy. Italians make the best lasagna I had ever had. I guess it makes sense though..it is Italian.

And the gelato! So amazing, we had to get it twice.

The Trevi Fountain. Remember from the Lizzie McGuire Movie? Maybe I am still a child but whenever I saw this I always thought about that movie. The little square that has the Trevi Fountain on it has about 6-8 outlets to other parts of the city. And I don't even rememebr where we were trying to get to but we must have kept making circles because we popped back out to the Trevi Fountain like 4 times before we finally found out how to get out of that place. Quite the long, frustrating, but hilarious adventure.

On one of those adventures trying to get away from the Trevi Fountain, we saw some orange trees and Andrew wanted to pick one and I told him it was not a good idea and he wouldn't be able to reach them anyways. Well if you know Andrew you know he WILL do anything that anyone says he cannot. So he spent ten minutes trying to reach, shake, wack with a stick an orange just to prove me wrong. He ended up succeeding and we tore into it only to find the NASTIEST orange we had ever tasted. So don't eat oranges off the streets in Rome. EW!

There are so many obelisks in Rome you would have thought that there must not be any more in Egypt!

The Pantheon

I don't think it is really visible here but it was raining when we visited the Pantheon and the rain was falling through the hole in the roof of the Pantheon. It was just really interesting to watch.

The Vatican

We got to go into the Vatican and WOW. It was beautiful. So many amazing works of art. You really could spend all day there if you wanted to see everything. We were with a tour group though and were only at the Vatican for about 2 hours. We also got to see the Sistine Chapel but we couldn't take any pictures. The Sistine Chapel wasn't really what I expected at all but it was still really neat. It is just very tiny and every inch of all of the walls and ceiling is covered in paintings.

And other pretty things...

Something that we learned about the Italians is that they are very fun, very relaxed and lively. Every part of Rome seemed to be very light and energetic. They are a happy people and we were privileged to be among them  :)
